March 19, 2010

This week we had the pleasure of meeting Richard and Vera’s friends Nick, Regi, Christina and Rebecca. They are here on vacation from the cold in New York State. This has been a cold winter for us but nothing like what they experienced. Fortunately it did get warmer at the end of their stay.

Left to right: Richard, Christina, Rebecca, Regi, Vera and Nick.

The eight of us went to Walt Disney World. We enjoyed both Magic Kingdom and Epcot. It is Spring Break around the nation, which means there are lots of tourists here and both places were busy. Even though the lines are long this time of year it was fun visiting and sharing stories about each of our families.

Vera suggested we introduce them to our favorite restaurant. So in the middle of our trip to Walt Disney World we went to Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. Of course, Christina and Rebecca were having so much fun they stayed in the Magic Kingdom and ate the typical tourist food instead of joining us. A couple of days later they arranged a lunch break from their Sea World visit to join us again at the same restaurant. This time the girls joined everyone. All agreed with us that this is “One Fantastic Place to Eat”.

Wednesday night Nick and Regi invited Richard, Vera, Char and I to join them in celebrating Christina’s 20th birthday. The picture above was taken in the home they rented in Davenport, Florida only a short distance from our RV Park.

Often in the evenings, Char and I reminisce about all the magnificent things that we have experienced in our lives. Now we are enjoying a great retirement with the ability to travel and see our great country. And this week, we added to our growing list of friends. We surely have been blessed.
