November 26, 2009

We have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Mike’s fiancée, Tammy, flew here from Texas and joined us for a wonderful dinner. Char and I enjoyed lots of great food with our friends, Richard and Vera and family, Mike and Tammy. We had Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, broccoli casserole, cranberry sauce, rolls and pumpkin pie with whipped topping and coffee for desert.

It was a nice day to celebrate outside.

Look at the full plates and smiles, as we get ready to eat.

Richard and Vera gave Mike and Tammy an engagement present. Tammy is impressed with Richard’s skill with a needle and thread.

Now I think they are both excited to receive such a fantastic gift.

After dinner we sat around in the bright sunshine, swapped stories and listened to Tammy and Mike’s plans for the future.

Tomorrow, Mike and Tammy will leave for Keller, Texas with their 5th wheel trailer and truck. They plan to take three days traveling and should be home for work on Monday. We wish them a safe journey and we will certainly miss both of them. We plan to travel to Texas in December for their wedding. Now we will have another stop to add to our summer trip plans each year.

It was an outstanding Thanksgiving Day. Thanks Vera for all your hard work making this terrific dinner.
