Abby, Jill and Karl left yesterday for home so now we are setting here watching the rain. We had such a great time with our family. We did lots of fun things and got rather tired but we wouldn’t change anything we did during the last week. It is nice that Karl, Jill and Abby don’t have to go back to school until Monday. They will have a little time to rest up after a busy week in Florida.

We still have some company staying with us in our motor home. Richard and Vera are in New York for Richard’s Mother’s funeral. Please add the family to your payers. Their dog Brandie is entertaining us while they are gone. She is a real joy to have around. We have been lucky and not gotten wet taking Brandie out for her walks. It started raining last night and is supposed to continue off and on until tomorrow night. The prediction is no sun for today so Brandie is in her bed catching up on her rest. We will probably not do much today and rest also while listening to the rain on the roof.

Day 5 was at Sea World. What a fun place to go. We watched Shamu and his friends perform jumps, flips, splash water on the crowd and interact with their trainers. Abby and Karl fed and petted the dolphins. We loved watching Abby have a great time on the nets at Happy Harbor. She was excited to be able to climb by herself without Karl. We also enjoyed the Penguin Encounter and watched as the glass and rocks were cleaned in the Puffin habitat.

My camera isn’t working properly, so once again you can go to Abby’s blog for some of Karl’s fantastic pictures.

Day 4 we went to Jetty Park at Cape Canaveral. We drove our motor home so Abby could set in the front passenger’s seat. I think see enjoyed the ride and the view from up front. We had lunch in the RV and then went to the beach to play. Abby had fun building things in the wet sand and running with Karl.

Jetty Park is on the channel where several large ships come into port. We saw two large casino ships and one large freighter come in.

We saw dolphins, a large school of small fish and turtles on our walk out on the fishing pier. The fishermen we talked with didn’t seem to be having much success. They thought it would get better later in the day. (All fishermen think alike. The big one is just one cast away.) We wished them good luck and continued walking.

Day three at Walt Disney World was spent at Animal Kingdom. The water was fast and cold on the Kali River Rapids. Karl and Abby went on this one three times. I think Karl absorbed more water more than Abby. While both were wet, he looked wetter than Abby at the end of each ride. Jill, Char and I watched from a bridge as Karl and Abby passed beneath us. It was truly a lot of fun watching Abby and Karl laughing and having such a great time.

Karl, Jill and Abby went on the Kilimanjaro Safaris ride twice. They saw more animals on the second trip and enjoyed it more than the first ride through. Because Char is having problems with her back now, she and I sat in the shade and people watched while the kids were on the Safari ride.

We all enjoyed the original stage show Finding Nemo – the Musical. It is a wonderful blend of puppetry and live performance. This is a must see if you come to Florida and visit Walt Disney World.

Today the fun continued at Epcot. It wasn’t as crowded and the lines weren’t as long a yesterday.

Once again Abby picked the attractions. We visited Test Track, Mexico Pavilion River of Time Boat Cruise, The China Pavilion, Journey into Imagination with Figment, the Seas With Nemo and Friends, Listen to the Land, The Circle of Life, Soarin’ and Spaceship Earth. We had nice lunch at The Nine Dragons Restaurant in The China Pavilion.

Fun! Fun! Fun! Jill, Karl and Abby are visiting us from Colorado. They arrived yesterday afternoon. Today we went to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Abby picked the attractions she wanted to ride. Her picks were: Splash Mountain – 2 times, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – 2 times, “it’s a small world”, The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm, Tomorrowland Indy Speedway, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Tomorrowland Transit Authority. The crowds weren’t bad but we still had a full day of lines and fun. About midday we had lunch at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café.
Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment.

Karl and Abby are playing the airport game. Are our bags here yet?

Karl and Jill in the front car with Abby and Uncle Mike in the second car as they come around the final turn towards home at the Indy Speedway.

Sometimes the lines seemed to move quickly.
Sometimes waiting seemed to take a long time.

I thing Abby had a fun day.

It has been a while since our last post. We have gotten a few calls asking if we are lost or not able to connect to the Internet. We are fine and not lost. We are back at Ponderosa RV Park in Kissimmee for the winter now. We stopped and played along the way. We took our time through Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama. We stopped at some of our usual places on the way back. It is nice to stop at a familiar campground when traveling.

Our Park is a little different now. We have a large blacktop pad to park on with nice new sod. Everything looks very good. With plenty of water this past summer, the new sod and grass is doing extremely well.

This year Richard and Vera and Char and I changed lots. We are now next to one another. We spend a lot of time together and now it will be easier going back and forth between coaches.

We traveled home during “love bug” season. Now we are working hard to get all of them off of the front of our motor home. Some of them have been on for several days and can be rather difficult to remove. This is just one of the joys of living in Florida. Fortunately it only happens twice a year.
