We finally left Lazydays. We came home on Sunday. Not everything is fixed but we are very happy to be home. As I said in the last entry, we had a problem with the main slide floor. The repair that the factory sent wasn’t acceptable so Lazydays came up with a fix. This wasn’t acceptable either. So they had to take the slide completely out and replace the bottom. It was really a big job.
This is the original damage to the outside of the slide.
This is the damaged area where the slide moves in the coach.
Here the slide is coming out.
We couldn’t stay in the coach with the slide out so they put us in a hotel next door.
After removing the bottom skin, they prepared the bottom for the new skin.
This is the old bottom skin.
The new bottom skin is on and waiting to be reinstalled in the coach.Lazydays couldn’t get the slide adjusted correctly so the paint stripes match. We will stop at the factory in Indiana so they can make the final adjustments.
We did meet a lot of very nice people while we waited for our coach. Rich and Lisa Davis, new Bounder owners will be joining us at the Bounders of America Rally in Richmond, Indiana in May. We are looking forward to seeing them again.
Richard and Vera are still at Lazydays waiting on the last of their things to be fixed. They should be home this week hopefully. They had to have the wood floor replaced twice, the carpet replaced, part of the solid surface counter top replaced and lots more. I think we all feel the quality control at the factory has deteriorated greatly in the last year. We didn’t have these kinds of issues with our last coach. While we didn’t want to be at the dealership for two months, it was great that we were with our best friends. It made the time go a lot easier.
On one of our many walks looking at new motorhomes, we saw this little critter. We think it is a spider that had a smiley face on it back. It had a web on the side of a slide out and was waiting for company. We aren't sure what it is except that it was interesting to see.
