We are now at Rustic Sands Campground, Mexico Beach, Florida. It is an older park with lots of pine trees to navigate around when parking.
We have a very special tree just outside of our door. It seems to be growing fishing line, hooks and lead weights. This may be something that only grows in the panhandle of Florida. We have never found anything like it on trees in other states we visited.
I wanted to include this picture for my brothers. They both like to fish and this would cut down on expenses if they could get these to grow in Indiana.
I found this number on what looked like one of the lines. Perhaps this will help identify this unusual growth.
We are only a couple of blocks from the Gulf of Mexico. This morning we took a nice leisurely walk on the beach. The weather was perfect. There was a little breeze from the northeast and the temperature was in the lower eighties.

The beach was beautiful white sand. We had a great time looking for shells and getting our feet wet.
I was intrigued by the way the vegetation was growing towards the water. One day this mighty plant may cover all this sand.
We met this little crab out for a walk. (He is less than 2” across if you measure his legs from end to end)
We saw this pelican preening on a pole near the beach.
On the way back to the campground, we saw this cute little building. It would be perfect for a wedding chapel.
After Richard and Vera returned from Church, we went back to the beach to watch the sunset.
The sky wasn’t as spectacular as we had hoped for but it was a nice evening to be on the beach. We had another great day on the road. This time it was in Florida and we are getting closer to our winter home.
