The Walls of Jericho, a nature preserve, recreation area and a wildlife management area, is very large and located in both Alabama and Tennessee. The trails vary from very easy to difficult. We took the 1-mile Loop Trail. It was an outstanding walk through the woods. As some of you know, it is very refreshing to see the wonders of nature from a hiking trail.

Isn’t this a magnificent view of the Cumberland Mountains?
Even the trees gave us unusual sights to enjoy.

It was too early for the colorful leaves but we found a few.

This little guy had a beautiful iridescent blue belly.

With this look he seems to be saying, “This is my home and you are just visiting so no funny business.”
After our hike we went to Scottsboro for a little shopping. There were lots of antique stores to visit. There also was a general merchandise store, Hammers, which had a large variety of things. It started in business forty-seven years ago and still looks about the same. It reminded us of stores from our childhood and of course we found things we had to have.
