June 30, 2007

The Bounder Rally was terrific. Almost 400 coaches with people of all ages came to the Missouri State Fair Grounds in Sedalia, Missouri to have fun, meet people, learn new things, eat lots of food and buy a new gadget or two for their Motorhome. We had a good time and Vera took lots of pictures.

One of Richard’s many talents is directing traffic.

This is part of the campground area.

The facilities were excellent. It takes a lot of room to accommodate feeding approximately 800 people. Each day we sat with different people. It’s a nice way to get to know people from all across this great country.

The Rally organizers made learning new things about RVing, maintenance, traveling, photography and various subjects easy and fun. We had 80 seminars to choose from.

Some of the topics covered were:
History of Sedalia
Frustration free RVing
Motorhome suspension, handling & alignment
Let’s talk about Motorhome maintenance
Digital photography
Mobile Internet & TV options
RV fresh water issues
RVing 101 – Ask a woman
Traveling with your pets
Bounder boot camp
Sex in your golden years
Go green RVing
Recipe swap
Swedish weaving
Orchids on the go

The temperature was in the upper 80s and lower 90s the first few days. It turned cooler and rainy the last couple of days. The weather didn’t matter as we were inside for almost everything.
We did gather outside for a special treat. The Schwan truck delivers great ice cream.

There was another outside activity for everyone to enjoy. A dealer from Arkansas brought several new motor homes to for us to check out. Would you believe they were for sale with special rally prices? All we needed to do was just see a salesman for details.

We had never attended a rally prior to this. All I can say is - it was fantastic. I’m sure we will be attending many more. Thank you Richard and Vera.
