Karl, Jill and Abby came to our house for dinner today. After dinner we went down to the lake to skip stones on the water. I think playing in or near the water brings out the child in all of us. We even had wild geese as spectators.

Some of us did take a little time to talk with friends and family. I hope Vera said hi to Christel for all of us.
Later we came back to the campsite and built a fire to make smores. Karl, Abby and I worked on the fire. I must admit Karl is the master fire builder.

After Karl’s lesson in fire building, we all settled in our chairs to watch Abby feed Brandie.

What are they looking at? Could it possibly be rain coming our way? Yes, we were rained out. Karl once again came to the rescue. He made our treats in the microwave. Maybe the marshmallows weren’t roasted over an open fire but they tasted great.

To end a perfect day, we went for a refreshing walk and admired a colorful sunset.
