We celebrated Thanksgiving by joining others in the RV Park. We had a great potluck in the recreation building at noon. The Park furnished the turkey. I’m sure we all overate. The food was plentiful and very good. Later in the day Vera, Rich, Char and I had fun playing cards.

During the last week, we have been to Cape Canaveral twice, Disney World three times, and Wal Mart several times. Can it get any better than this?

We went to Cape Canaveral on Saturday to see Mike. He was back at the port for a few hours and was able to get off the boat to have lunch with us. Everything tastes better when dining with family. We took a picnic lunch and went back on Sunday with Vera and Rich to enjoy the area. It was fun to watch the cruise line boats go out to sea. Some day maybe we will be on one of them. We walked on the beach and watched the pelicans float on the winds above us. It was a great day.

We went to the Disney Resorts to see the Christmas decorations. We were fortunate to see the chefs at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort building their Ginger Bread House. We want to go back to see more before Christmas. Walt Disney World is a wonderful place for the Holidays. We rented a bicycle for four and rode the circle at Disney’s Boardwalk. It was a lot of fun and we will do it again.

We had fun playing through retirement today. We went to Disney’s Animal Kingdom with Vera and Richard. We enjoyed several attractions, saw many animals and watched Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade. We took the Wildlife Express Train to see where the animals go at night. They bring them in at dusk to feed and visually inspect them. It was interesting to learn about and see their apartments. The picture on the left is us on the train.

We used "Fast Pass" for the first time today. It is picked up at the attraction you want visit and gives a window of time to return to the attraction. It made a very big difference in the wait times and we were able to see much more. If you plan to go to any Disney Park, be sure to use "Fast Pass" especially on the busy days.

Charlotte, Vera and Richard rode the newest attraction, Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. This ride reaches a speed of fifty-five miles per hour and has lots of built in thrills. It even goes backwards for a while. The three of them agree, this is a fantastic ride.

Today we went to the Tampa Bay RV Show at the Florida State Fairgrounds. The weather was perfect with the temperature in the upper seventies. We went with Mike and our new friends, Richard and Vera that we met at the RV Park where we are spending the winter. We all wanted to see what’s new for 2007. We saw some very nice models but nothing any of us would trade for our current RV. Everyone had a very good time and we enjoyed each other’s company. We stopped at the Cracker Barrel, one of our favorite restaurants, on the way home.

Tonight we met Albert and Shelly in Old Town for the Saturday Night Cruise. They have approximately three hundred cars and trucks there every Saturday. It features 1972 and older vehicles. Albert is restoring a 1972 Corvette Stingray, that he drove tonight. At eight thirty, they drive all the cars and trucks down the brick streets of Old Town. Shelly let Ray take her place and ride with Albert in the Cruise through town. There were thousands of people lining the streets some four, five or six deep. You could hear people oooing, ahhhing and talking about the vehicles as we drove past. It was FANTASTIC! Here is a picture of Albert and Shelly with their 72 Stingray.

Today was a Nascar Day. We went to the Richard Petty Track Experience at Walt Disney World. Mike did the ride along for a couple of laps around the track. He went approximately 145 miles per hour on the backstretch. He rode in the Home Depot number 20 car like Tony Stewart drives in the Nextel Cup Series. This was great, Tony Stewart is one of his favorite drivers. He said he now has a better understanding of what it feels like when the tires grip in the corners at one hundred plus miles per hour. He had a very large smile when he got out of the car. The speed, heat, noise and G-Force made this an exciting ride.
